Here's What's Happening:
Summer Services:
Lay-led Sunday services begin at 10:30 a.m. Coffee and snacks after the service. Childcare provided for infants and toddlers. No Sunday school.
Aug 31: "What I Did on My Summer Vacation," a spiritual retrospective led by Nan Jefferys.
Music for the summer services will be provided by congregation members and friends including brass groups, wind and piano soloists, madrigal singing, folk, classical and jazz selections.
Our Friday Noon Concert Series continues into October this year.
Sunday, September 7
10:30 a.m. - Annual Intergenerational Ingathering Service. "Welcome Home!" with Rev. Arline Conan Sutherland. Please come and be part of the festive opening of the church year! We will install the Rev. Arline Conan Sutherland as our interim minister and celebrate the gathering of this congregation for 312th year of worship. Please bring with you a small amount of water from a place or a moment that was significant in your life this summer. This is a service for all ages! The service will be followed by a traditional Harvest Potluck. Nursery care for infants and toddlers. No Sunday School this week.
12 noon - Harvest Potluck Picnic. Celebrate the start of fall and our new church year and help welcome our new Interim Minister and fall visitors by coming to our Haravest Potluck Picnic which will be held on our church lot after the worship service. (Indoors in case of rain.) Please bring a dish to share, harvest-themed if possible (think ratatouille, peach cobbler, zucchini pickles) and label with its name, making sure to note if it contains nuts. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs if you like. Songs, poems or other entertainments focused on widening the welcome and welcoming Arline are welcome. Sunday, September 14
9:30 a.m. - RG&L Open House for families with children in preschool through eighth grade. Register your children for our RE program, meet Rev. Arline and our Sunday School teachers, ask any questions you may have about the program, and enjoy light breakfast treats. Parker Hall.
10:30 a.m. - Worship service: "Limbos and Bardos," with Rev. Arline Conan Sutherland. As this interim ministry begins, Arline will reflect on this and other times in our lives when we find ourselves "in between." Nursery care for infants and toddlers. Sunday School for older children.
